The Study Abroad Fund for my Children

I already started a study abroad fund for my 10 year old daughter and my 6 and 3 year old sons. The pot is small but it needed to be started. I think I actually need a fund for high school exchange programs and a fund for international experiences at the the college level.

To be sure, I'll be putting the various study abroad scholarships on their radar!

  1. You know what, I did the same thing when my nieces, nephews and god-daughters were born.
I found it was just too expensive to keep sending them presents for birthdays and Christmas (I live in the UK, they live in the USA), so instead I put money aside for each one and they can access it when they are 18 yrs, with the stipulation that the money has to be used for travelling (or study abroad).
By the time they are 18 each one will have a nice little pot of money to use! (and I will be broke!)

  2. @Jessica ~ I love that plan! They will be so thankful when they are all older. Thanks for sharing!
