U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry on the Impact that Violence in the United States has on Prospective International Students

  1. Hello All:

I always wonder what foreign students might think before coming to the U.S. When we lived abroad, I was amazed at the fascination people had with American events. The media coverage we get is definitely not good. Our gun problem is notorious to say the least. Gangs rule some areas. Now, we just witnessed another tragic and needless loss of life in Boston. I guess the lure of America outweighs the risk for many. However, we are starting to lose out to other safer and more desirable areas. Violence is affecting us in many ways.
